Fresh off the overwhelming success of his centerpiece for the National World War I Memorial in Washington, D.C., Howard shared exclusive details about his vision to create an "American Parthenon" and his strategic relocation to Texas to bring the colossal bronze monument to life.

During the in-depth, 51-minute conversation with renowned military historian and classicist Victor Davis Hanson, Howard discussed the philosophical and logistical framework of the new project, which aims to counter the nihilism of modern art by restoring classical, narrative-driven monuments that celebrate the American "Everyman."

Project Highlights: The Grand Liberty Arch
Howard revealed several unprecedented details about the upcoming architectural and sculptural endeavor during the interview:
Unmatched Scale: The monument will feature 56 heroic-scale bronze figures sculpted entirely from life. The figures on the relief will stand 8 to 9 feet tall, while the figures crowning the arch will reach 12 feet.

A Texas Home: Howard announced he is officially relocating his studio operations from Utah to the Dallas-Fort Worth area, citing Texas as the "rebirth of our nation." He is currently seeking a 1- to 2-acre site to house the arch within a dedicated plaza and constitutional center.

Budget and Timeline: The estimated cost of the 8-to-9-year project is $50 million, matching the WWI Memorial budget but delivering three times the sculptural scale.

Core Message: The arch will prominently feature the phrases "In God We Trust" and "E Pluribus Unum," serving as a unifying historical narrative for future generations.

"I want to make an American Parthenon to celebrate our country, and we have a lot to celebrate," Howard told Hanson. "This is returning to what is the possibility of humanity... Michelangelo did the Sistine Chapel, the Medici tomb, and Raphael painted the Stanza della Segnatura. And look at St. Peter's. Why should we not do things at that scale today?"

Celebrating the World War I Memorial
The podcast also served as a retrospective on Howard's recently completed masterpiece, "A Soldier's Journey." The 60-foot bronze relief was unveiled to the public on September 13, 2024, after nine and a half years of dedicated labor.

To document this historic effort, Howard announced that a feature-length documentary, titled Heroic: The Making of the World War I Memorial, will be released in the first quarter of 2027. The film features daily studio footage captured over nine years by his wife, author Traci L. Slatton.
