GLOW Oncology to Hold September 17 Launch Event Supporting Patient GI/GU Journey Symposium

Sponsored by internationally recognized designer David Yurman, the event will support the nonprofit's upcoming Gastrointestinal and Genitourinary (GI/GU) Patient Journey Symposium.The launch will bring together leaders from the oncology, healthcare, nonprofit, business and philanthropic communities. The event will include food, drinks and entertainment, along with an introduction to GLOW's mission and programs.

Patient Journey Symposium
Proceeds from the launch event will support the GI/GU Patient Journey Symposium, an educational initiative focused on the experiences and needs of patients and caregivers affected by gastrointestinal and genitourinary cancers to be held in Miami Beach, FL on November 6, 2026 at Mount Sinai Medical Center.
The symposium will bring together patients, caregivers, clinicians, researchers and advocates. Planned topics include clinical trial access, survivorship, emerging technologies and artificial intelligence, nutrition, patient education, and support from diagnosis through treatment and beyond.

Recent Milestones
Since launching in late 2025, GLOW Oncology has expanded its national and international reach through work with healthcare institutions, advocacy organizations, industry partners, clinicians, researchers, patients and caregivers.
National Recognition
GLOW Oncology was selected for two Conquer Cancer scholarships to attend the Annual Meeting of the American Society of Clinical Oncology (ASCO). Eidelman also received the Power2Voice Award and was recognized through a City of Doral proclamation signed by the mayor for her contributions to health equity, patient advocacy and community engagement.

Digital Patient Education
In partnership with Salura Health, GLOW recently launched a Virtual Patient Education and Clinical Trials Education Series on TikTok. The series is led by GLOW board members Carissa Hocevar, a two-time Stage IV stomach cancer survivor whose treatment included participation in a clinical trial, and Kelsea Lozada, a clinical trials educator focused on research awareness and access.
The series brings together patients, survivors, caregivers, clinicians, advocates and nonprofit leaders to discuss cancer care, clinical trials, survivorship and the patient experience. Insights from the series may help inform future research, education, clinical trial awareness and patient-centered innovation.

GLOW Oncology collaborates with Cleveland Clinic, MD Anderson Cancer Center, Baptist Health Miami Cancer Institute, Northwell Health, Mount Sinai Medical Center, among other healthcare organizations. Its nonprofit and advocacy collaborators include CancerCare, Imerman Angels, Smart Patients, Triage Cancer, and Blood Cancers United.
