KCCLA Brings 2026 K-POP Academy to San Francisco

Three-Day Program Features Professional K-POP Choreographers, Dance Classes and a Live Showcase

The Korean Cultural Center Los Angeles (KCCLA) will present the 2026 K-POP Academy in San Francisco from September 18 to 20 at UC Berkeley, offering K-POP fans across San Francisco and the Bay Area the opportunity to train with professional choreographers currently working in the K-POP industry.

Presented with local support from the America K-POP Association (AKA) and the Center for Korean Studies at UC Berkeley, the three-day program will feature beginner and advanced dance classes, followed by a live showcase at the San Francisco Ferry Building.

The Academy will offer two class tracks. Beginner One-Day Classes will be held from 12:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. on September 18 and 19, giving participants an accessible introduction to K-POP choreography in a fun and welcoming class environment.

The Advanced Class, held from 3:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. on September 18 and 19, will provide more intensive training in choreography, musical interpretation, movement dynamics, teamwork, and stage presence. Advanced participants will then perform in the Academy’s final showcase on September 20.

Leading the program are TED (Jaehee Choi) and EZY (Jihun Lee), two professional dancers and choreographers with extensive experience across K-POP performances, tours, music videos, and artist training.

TED appeared as the leader of dance crew EO-DDAE on Mnet’s Street Man Fighter and has served as a performance director for Whee In’s world tour and fan concert. His choreography credits include IVE’s “I AM,” HyunA’s “Attitude,” and Kep1er’s MAMA Awards performance. He has also performed as a main dancer for artists including ROSÉ, NewJeans, HWASA, PSY, HyunA, and Uhm Jung Hwa.

EZY has performed in major K-POP stages and music videos including LE SSERAFIM’s “Smart” and “Crazy,” JEON SOMI’s “Fast Forward,” NewJeans’ “Super Shy,” JISOO’s “EARTHQUAKE,” and CHUNG HA’s “I’m Ready” and “Algorithm.” His experience also includes teaching and workshops at Hanlim Arts High School and 1MILLION Dance Studio.

Throughout the program, TED and EZY will go beyond teaching choreography to help participants understand how K-POP performances are built for the stage. Instruction will focus on musicality, movement quality, performance energy, and individual expression, drawing directly from the instructors’ professional experience in the K-POP industry.

The program will conclude on September 20 with a live showcase held in conjunction with the Chuseok Korean Cultural Festival at the San Francisco Ferry Building. The festival will run from 11:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., with the K-POP Academy’s Advanced Class participants scheduled to perform at 3:00 p.m.

The showcase will allow participants to bring together what they learned during the two-day intensive and perform for a live festival audience.

As K-POP continues to expand through dance, social media, workshops, and live performance, KCCLA aims to provide more opportunities for audiences to engage directly with Korean culture while building stronger connections with K-POP and dance communities throughout San Francisco and the Bay Area.
